Overview
The Abbreviations mobile application helps you browse, search, and optionally sync abbreviation data for personal reference. This privacy policy explains what data is involved, how it is handled on your device and when you use our services, and your choices.
Data on your device
After you choose to sync, abbreviation records (term, full text, category) are stored locally on your device. You can clear app data or uninstall the app at any time to remove that copy.
Network & our servers
Optional features contact our API over the internet (for example: full database sync, or lookup when a term is not found locally). Use the app in line with normal personal use; do not abuse the service with automated high-volume scraping.
Third-party sources
When a term is not in our database, our backend may consult public abbreviation sources to obtain a definition. Those sources have their own terms; we store the resolved text so your app can show it offline after lookup.
Accuracy & disclaimer
Abbreviations and categories are provided for convenience only. Verify critical meanings against official orders, regulations, or medical references where required.
